Meet Our Doctor

Dr PeacePeace Anyadike, OD, also known as “Dr. Peace,” is originally from Nigeria where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from Abia State University, Nigeria. After migrating to the US, she fulfilled the requirements to practice Optometry in the US, obtained her license and started practicing in the Bronx in 2016.

As a child, she saw her grandfather gradually lose his vision from a preventable eye disease, only because he was fooled by a man who presented himself as an eye doctor who performed a crude procedure on her grandfather’s eyes. The result was bad as her grandfather lost his vision.

This experience changed everything for her grandfather as he could no longer live the life he enjoyed. He enjoyed farming and hunting. He went from a very active, vibrant and independent man to one who felt helpless and very defeated. Even though he lived a few years after that, it was as if he died on the day he realized he couldn't see anymore.

Seeing her grandfather's suffering instilled in her a very strong desire to become an eye doctor. Her goal as an optometrist is to go above and beyond to give her patients the best possible eye care to ensure that their vision is protected and preserved. It starts with a thorough eye exam using state-of-the-art equipment and making appropriate referrals when needed. Dr. Peace wants you to know, “I have not held back in acquiring any piece of equipment that can enable me to reach this goal.”

Her experience in the different settings that she has worked in led her to develop an interest in providing Binocular Vision care (which includes Vision Therapy). Oftentimes, kids who need this service are missed because they think what they are experiencing is normal so they don’t complain.

In order to provide this service, Dr. Peace embarked on post graduate trainings from Hadassah University in Israel and the Optometric Extension Program Foundation located in the US that specialize in providing this post graduate training.

Dr. Peace shares, “We provide eyecare for the entire family as well as Vision Therapy for those who need it.  We are looking forward to helping you.”
